Charity Learning Consortium sponsors Social Media Convention

The Charity Learning Consortium (CLC) is delighted to be sponsoring the Third Sector Social Media convention, an exciting new event in London, on 13-14 June. The CLC, the largest group of UK based charities which collaborate to make eLearning affordable, is currently supporting its members in exploring the benefits of embracing social media for L&D, so it’s the perfect event for the Consortium to support.

The Charity Learning Consortium (CLC) is delighted to be sponsoring the Third Sector Social Media Convection in London, 13-14 June. It promises to be an engaging two day event, covering all aspects of innovation, development, best practice and strategy in digital communication, eLearning and social media.

Martin Baker, MD and founder of the Charity Learning Conosrtium, will be speaking about the benefits of eLearning at the Convention and will also join a panel debating social media. Macmillan Cancer Support and Breast Cancer Care, both charity members of the Consortium, also have representatives making presentations.

The Third Sector has embraced social media for learning and development, racing ahead of their corporate counterparts, as was revealed by recent benchmarking research by Towards Maturity.

Martin Baker commented: “It makes perfect sense for those working in charities and not-for-profits to use free social media tools, and I know that our members are really keen to learn more about the benefits of using them specifically for learning and development.”

The 80+ charity members of the Consortium – the largest UK based group of charities which collaborate to make eLearning affordable – can claim a special discount to attend.

“What’s great about this convention is that it is geared so specifically to the needs of the Third Sector,” said Martin. “It’s the perfect opportunity for our members to learn more about what others in the sector are doing. Theory can be really useful, but nothing beats learning about what works in practice.”
