Wrongly-addressed letters costing UK businesses £163m

More
than two-thirds of business letters are wrongly addressed, according to new
research from Royal Mail.

This
contributes to a staggering 172 million items of mail that were sent to
businesses that had moved or ceased to trade, costing UK businesses in excess
of £163m.

Research
from the Royal Mail Business Changes File shows the reality behind keeping
track of customers in today’s business environment. These include:

A company name change occurs every minute

–
A chief executive changes every minute

–
A business closes every minute

–
A business fails every four minutes

–
A business moves office every six minutes

–
5.7 million business details change each year

Roche, head of business development at Royal Mail, said: “It seems incredible
