Food
manufacturer S&A Foods has won this year’s John Sainsbury Award for
Learning and Development after the judges praised the firm for demonstrating
real commitment to people development.
The
company received the prize at the Institute of Grocery Distribution’s annual
awards ceremony.
The
judges were impressed with S&A’s approach to development and said a
multitude of initiatives had unlocked the potential of the workforce.
Since
2000 the company has conducted a learning survey, set-up a learning centre and
introduced IT, English and interpersonal skills training schemes.
