Postal
workers have rejected the call to strike by narrowly rejecting industrial
action in a union ballot.
The
Communication Workers Union (CWU) revealed that its members had decided against
a walkout – by just 1,647 votes.
An
overwhelming yes vote had been expected but 50.9 per cent voted against any
action compared to 49.1 per cent who wanted to strike.
