DIY
retailer B&Q has announced the first set of winners in its innovative staff
recognition awards scheme.
The
B&Q Recognition Awards are designed to reward members of staff that have
shown dedication or excellence across the business.
The
awards are split into three categories: the Big Hero, the Best of the Best and
the Big Thank You to reward different attributes among the 30,000-strong
workforce.
The
winner of the top award was presented with a fully paid year off and £10,000,
while other winners were given £10,000 or £5,000 worth of home makeover
vouchers.
HR
director Mike Cutt said the awards ceremony was designed to provide a bigger
stage for the company to show its appreciation to employees.

"The
continued success of the business is largely dependent on excellent staff going
that extra mile for customers. So, to thank our star performers we’ve ensured
the prizes exceed expectations," he said.
