– New management essays by authors such as Charles Handy, Peter Drucker and
Henry Mintzberg are being converted into 700 bite-sized chunks for the
Learningmatters electronic resource, a collection which features 1,700 soft
skills management solutions. Existing users of the resource include BUPA,
Compass Group and Boots the Chemist.  www.learningmatters.com

– NETg, part of the Thomson Corporation, has made its biggest-selling
course, the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL), available in French,
German, Italian and Spanish. In the UK alone, 450,000 people are registered on

– TATA Interactive Systems has developed a new e-learning technology called
Simulation-Based Learning Objects in association with the University of Phoenix
in Arizona. It has already produced six generic e-learning programmes using the
technology covering topics such as marketing and inventory management.  www.tata.com

– IT services company Bytes Technology is launching the E-learning
Excellence Awards for the UK legal profession. Two awards will be presented:
the User Acceptance Award, for the company that has achieved the highest
take-up of a learning programme in line with the firm’s business or IT
objectives, and the Innovation Award, presented to the firm that can
demonstrate how it has used e-learning to achieve a pre-defined objective.  www.bytes.co.uk
