Small HR staff manage substantial workload

HR
staff represent a tiny percentage of the workforce in major UK corporations,
finds a study.

Recruitment
and resource management, a survey of the UK: the critical factors, studied 75
large organisations in the UK and reveals that in 92 per cent of cases HR staff
account only for between one and two per cent of the workforce.

just 6 per cent of cases HR staff account for between 2 and 5 per cent of
employees and just two per cent of firms have HR departments that are any
larger, finds the survey.

Despite
this only 1 per cent of HR employees are found to be directly involved in
recruitment and just 36 per cent of the analysed companies have a separate
