Cut-price PCs for Sodexho workers

Sodexho is offering all 20,000 full-time employees computer equipment at up
to half price in a bid to help improve staff retention.

The catering and support service firm is able to offer staff discounted
equipment thanks to tax breaks on computer equipment purchased by employers and
a deal with a computer supplier.

Full-time staff have until the end of the month to sign up to the arrangement
that will see a leasing fee taken out of their wages for three years. At the
end of that period, staff can buy the equipment at the discounted rate or give
it back.

Eligible employees – those have worked for the company for over a year – can
claim up to £2,500 worth of computer equipment from Sodexho.

Martin Archer, UK HR director at Sodexho, believes the deal will help the
firm retain quality staff.

He said: "I am hopeful the scheme will have a high take-up and will
have an impact on staff retention. It should help with retention because if
they have signed-up and leave the company, they would have to pay the remaining
balance.

If the scheme is popular, Sodexho will consider extending the scheme to all
its 55,000 staff, including part-time and temporary workers.
