Jonathon Ross hosts Personnel Today Awards 2001

Tuesday
6th November 2001 saw the culmination of the Personnel Today Awards 2001 at a
glittering gala at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane. The evening was
hosted by Jonathon Ross with a special guest appearance from Minister for
Pensions the Rt Hon Ian McCartney.

The
overall winner was the Lloyds TSB centre for career management team led
by senior manager Rob Briggs. The Centre for Career Management is one of the
most visited sites on the corporate intranet and has resulted in a 25 point
increase in satisfaction among employees, according to staff attitude surveys.

The category winners were:

Hammond Suddards Edge award for HR manager of the year:
Cathy Callus, HR director of recruitment and support team for Happy
Computers

tmp.worldwide award for Global HR:
The HR for Europe and Asia Pacific team from Getty Images.
Vice-president for HR: Ralph Tribe

The Industrial Society award for organisational change:
The change programme team from Ventura. HR Director: Kate Marsden

Frazer Jones award for innovation in recruitment and retention
The staff development department from North Wales Police. HR team
leader: Chief Inspector Terry Stanton

Department for Work and Pensions award for age positive at work:
The equal opportunities team from The Halifax. Equal opportunity
manager: Gill Dawson

KnowledgePool award for excellence in training:
The contact centre training team from Nationwide Building Society.
Contact centre training manager: Ian McLarty

Rebus HR award for best HR strategy in line with business:
The People team from Asda. People director: David Smith

easycando award for e-learning:
The e-learning team from Consignia. E-learning services manager: Nigel
Marsh
