Bus company London United Busways has sacked two staff after
they circulated a smutty email picture out of work hours.
Sacked Godfrey Aberdeen admitted sending the email to a
colleague, which included a message about their manager’s testicles.
The colleague admitted he then put the picture in the company’s
depot as a joke – but both men were sacked.
Members of the T&G union have voted in favour of
strikes in protest against the decision.
The union claims Aberdeen was sacked because he was a
T&G convenor.
A London United spokesman said, “The decision to take
industrial action in the light of irrefutable evidence and knowing the correct
procedure has been followed seems extremely odd.”
