The UK curry producer S&A Foods is to build a
purpose-built factory in Newcastle-under-Lyme, creating more than 1,000 new
jobs.
Investment in the project totals £31.3m and has been helped
by a £5m government grant.
The company will use the factory to produce its top-selling
range of Eastern dishes.
Trade and industry secretary Stephen Byers said, “This is a
major jobs coup for Newcastle-under-Lyme.
“Today’s good news follows hard work to revitalise the area,
backed by hard cash from the government.”
