A million parents to request flexibility

More
than one million parents are expected to request flexible working rights under
new legislation introduced this week.

The
Employment Act gives the 3.8m UK workers with disabled children under 18 years
old or children under 6 years old the right to request changes to their working
schedules.

survey by the National Centre for Social Research show that 1.3m staff plan to
ask for flexible working, with more than a third wanting fewer hours.
