The
Automobile Association (AA) is set to close its Scottish roadside assistance
centre, with the loss of 237 jobs.
The
company plans to move its administrative wing – which includes call staff and
support workers – down to England.
The
announcement came during a meeting between staff and management and starts a
two-month consultation process on the proposed closure.
Alistair
Maclean, GMB national secretary for the AA, said the move was disgraceful, and
staff had been staggered by the news.
