University
lecturers and support staff are striking in a bid to get their London weighting
allowance raised.
Unison
and the Association of University Teachers (AUT), claim the allowance has been
frozen at £2,134 since 1992.

unions say the rolling action over the next fortnight will affect the
registration of around 130,000 students.
