Campaigners for age diversity at work have upped the pressure on companies
to recognise the issue by calling on them to make a board-level commitment to
fight ageism.
The Employers Forum on Age is calling on firms to sign The Commitment to Age
Diversity which includes an agreement from top management to build age
awareness, adhering to a code of practice for age diversity and measuring the
success of diversity strategy. The commitment was launched by employment and
equal opportunities minister Margaret Hodge and Howard Davies, chairman of the
Financial Services Authority.
