Asda to create 1,200 new jobs

Supermarket
group Asda is to create 1,200 new full-time jobs.

The
£200m investment will include refurbishing two depots in Scotland to create 600
jobs and a new centre at Lutterworth, which will become the hub of Asda’s
national distribution.

Gibbons, Asda’s distribution director, said: "This year, we will revolutionise
our distribution network. Wal-Mart [Asda’s US owner] technology means we can
get products into our stores faster and more efficiently than ever."
