Stephen Haddrill, director-general of the Association of British Insurers, has been appointed vice-president and chair of the board at the Institute for Employment Studies (IES).
Haddrill will play a key role in driving the IES mission of improving HR and employment practices in the UK.
He replaces Anne Minto, group human resources director at energy firm Centrica.
He said: “The research work of IES is vital to our understanding of change in the labour market as a whole and within companies.

Previously Haddrill was director of employment relations and the Competitiveness Unit at what was the Department of Trade and Industry.
