The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EASHW) and the
Organisation of American States have struck a deal to co-operate on health and
safety best practice and how it can be applied on both sides of the Atlantic.
They have agreed to launch a website, providing access to databases held by
both groups and allied organisations.

But the agreement also commits the institutions to developing joint health
and safety projects, making companies "better informedÉ about regulatory
demands, new research findings and best practices", thereby easing the
management workload of businesses operating in countries across the Americas
(including the Caribbean) and around Europe.
EASHW director Hans-Horst Konkolewsky, said the move would put all concerned
in "a better position to meet the health and safety challenges of
globalisation".
