Social
workers in Scotland
are being targeted in a recruitment drive by the Australian Government.
Officials
from Canberra
have travelled to Glasgow
in the hope of filling 30 vacancies at the city’s Children’s Services
Department. Incentives include financial and tax benefits.
The
Scottish Executive said the campaign would not threaten the availability of
staff in Scotland.
A
spokesman said the Australian campaign reflected the high esteem that Scotland’s
social workers are regarded with.
