Conflict Management Plus the UK’s leading provider of mediation services and mediation training has been selected by BERR, the Government’s Department for Business Enterprise & Regulatory Reform to provide in house mediation training as part of the creation of an internal resolution function. This is a particularly proud achievement for CMP as BERR is the government department responsible for the introduction of the new dispute resolution framework which emphasises the importance of the early resolution of workplace matters, thus avoiding expensive litigation. This framework came into effect on 6 April 2009.
As specialists in both the management and implementation of mediation services CMP was ideally placed to assist BERR in the creation of an in house mediation capability.
Susan Young, HR Director at BERR says, “Since announcing to staff that we were looking for potential mediators to be part of an in-house mediation service we have had a number of expressions of interest from across the department demonstrating how keen people are to find out more about mediation and to receive mediation training.”
John Crawley, CMP’s, Director of Training and Consultancy stated, “We are delighted to have secured the contract to provide training in mediation to the government department responsible for the implementation of the framework for workplace dispute resolution throughout Great Britain and who are obviously advocates of mediation as an effective solution for resolving workplace disputes. We look forward to working with them closely in the future.”
