Unashamedly American, but packed full of useful links, articles, research
and reports on the subject of e-learning. If you’re a beginner, it may be too soon
to go to the online arm of the Masie Center, which describes itself as an
international "e-lab and think-tank", dedicated to "exploring
the intersection of learning and technology". Its content can feel
overwhelming, but if you’re already an e-learning champion or are trying to
gather material for an informed report, it’s an excellent resource. The man
behind it is Elliott Masie, a pioneer in technology, learning and
organisational development for the past 27 years, who’s acted as consultant to
over 3,000 organisations from the CIA to Walt Disney. There is a paid-for
aspect to the site (and you can join its E-learning Consortium for $5,000
annually), but much of the material is free to access. A bonus is the area
dedicated to Masie’s presentation material, which is full of soundbites that
are perfect to quote at the boss. You can also sign up for free to the regular
online technology update and newsletter TechLearn Trends.
