Retailer B&Q has introduced a new monthly bonus scheme to help motivate its 30,000 shop floor workers, just two months after announcing the launch of a similar programme for its management team.
The £12m scheme is based on workers achieving individual store team targets and standards.
The scheme was pilot tested over a three-month period earlier this year, and more than 70% of store-based employees received about £60 each month as a result.

The retailer expects to invest over £1m per month in the scheme and the first payments will be made in July.
Euan Sutherland, chief executive of B&Q and Kingfisher UK, said: “We want everyone at B&Q to be well-motivated and incentivised to do the best job we can for our customers in every single store every time they shop.”
