The victory against Stour Contractors Ltd was hailed as "hugely
significant" by the T&G union, which backed Martin Avey’s case after
he was let go for recruiting and organising for the union.

T&G regional organiser Steve Turner said it clarified the position for
others anxious about joining the union.
