‘Buy British’ to save jobs urges union

Shopper
should buy British-made goods to save manufacturing jobs, says engineering
union Amicus.

Union
general secretary, Sir Ken Jackson, said: "British manufacturing is losing
thousands of jobs.

"The
government has a responsibility to support British workers in the most basic
way, by buying the goods they make."

The
Made in Britain campaign has launched a website listing goods made in the UK
and the number of jobs dependent on each product.
