UK finance jobs look set to be lost to India after Abbey announced the closure
of three of its domestic sites.
The
move is part of the firm’s review of its UK operations and will mean the loss
of 400 jobs and the redeployment of 900 jobs around the UK.
Offices
in Edinburgh, Warrington and Derby are set to close while a fourth based in
Bradford will also be affected.

Some
of the changes have come about as a result of Abbey opening a call centre in
India, although the firm has pledged to try and relocate staff before any
redundancies are made.
