Carphone Warehouse looks set to create 10,000 jobs by 2013.

The details emerged yesterday as the mobile phone giant forged ahead with its plan to split the group in two and build new retail stores.

Carphone Warehouse will demerge its mobile phone retail business – a 50-50 joint venture with American retailer Best Buy – and move its broadband and fixed line telecoms assets into a new listed business, Talk Talk Group.

The new retail business plan will create up to 70 US-style electronics superstores in the UK by 2013, with each employing around 160 staff.
