CBI close to naming successor to Sir Digby Jones

by Michael Millar 21 Mar 2006
by Michael Millar 21 Mar 2006

The race to find the next CBI director-general is now down to a choice of two candidates, the organisation has confirmed.

A spokeswoman for the CBI said: “We are down to two and there should be an announcement in the next few weeks.”

A team of headhunters from Odgers, Ray and Berndtson led by the former Conservative health secretary, Virginia Bottomley, is considering the merits of the shortlisted individuals.

Sir Digby Jones is to step down as head of the employers’ lobby group at the end of the year.
