Computer
Associates is asking staff to pay to watch England’s crutch World Cup battle
with Argentina.
The
company is asking staff for a £5 donation, which it will give to the NSPCC, in
return for an extra hour lunch break so staff can watch the whole game, which
kicks of at 12:30pm on Friday June 7th .
Computer
Associates’ 900 UK-based staff can watch the game on big screen set up in
office canteens.
Ian
Williams, regional HR manager at Computer Associates, believes that the move
will help increase morale and reduce absenteeism.
He
said: “It is a great opportunity to create a positive vibe. We want to create a
fun place to work.
“It
is the right way to get around the situation [possible absenteeism] and not to
hide from it.

“From
the amount of interest we have had I am expecting hundreds of staff to watch
the game and raise plenty of money for the NSPCC.”
