Childcare

Choosing the right childcare voucher provider

by Personnel Today 18 Feb 2010
by Personnel Today 18 Feb 2010

If you are unsure of where to look for the right childcare voucher provider, there are a number of organisations aimed at working parents that have information about suppliers and how to set up a scheme.

These include Daycare Trust, Working Families and National Day Nurseries Association.

Additionally, the Childcare Voucher Providers Association is a new organisation established to develop a set of voluntary industry standards for the childcare vouchers sector. It published a code of practice in March 2011. It is led by a number of childcare voucher providers, which are listed below.

Childcare voucher suppliers in the UK

kidsunlimited Childcare Vouchers understands that childcare vouchers form an important part of an employee benefits package. Committed to reducing the burden of administration for the employer, kidsunlimited will work with your business to support you with earnings-based assessment calculations and clearly communicate the options available to employees in regards to choosing the correct voucher amount applicable to their personal rate of tax. It also operates more than 50 childcare nurseries across the UK and understands the importance of the relationships involved when administrating childcare vouchers.

Apple Childcare Vouchers offers employers fast and simple paper-free registration for its flexible and efficient voucher scheme.

Childcare Voucher Solutions provides practical support in the form of advice and guidance every step of the way. It includes the administrative task of childcare voucher distribution, either by post to your employees or via online methods of delivery.

Computershare Voucher Services (formerly Busy Bees) is committed to providing excellent customer service, flexibility and dedication. It says its focus on parent development will ensure that employee uptake is maximised within any organisation.

Co-operative Employee Benefits (formerly Imagine Co-Operative Childcare) offers a voucher scheme and is committed to working with businesses to create bespoke benefits packages based on Co-operative values of trust, ethics and mutuality.

Edenred (formerly Accor Services) says it has a reputation for reliability, innovation and excellence and believes that offering a childcare voucher scheme is a great way to demonstrate an organisation’s working-parent credentials, helping to support recruitment, retention and engagement. It also offers a range of employee offers and discounts on lifestyle products and services at no extra cost to the employer.

Employers For Childcare is the only social enterprise in the UK that provides childcare vouchers. It says that it provides real savings for working parents on registered childcare costs, while saving money for employers that implement childcare voucher schemes by reducing their overheads.

Fair Care has almost 1,000 clients throughout the UK and boasts quick and effective implementation of its benefits schemes. Supported by dedicated account managers and an in-house customer services team, it delivers strong service levels to employers of all sizes across all sectors.

Grass Roots is a leading provider of salary sacrifice schemes and says it is able to inspire superior workplace performance and maximising the impact of clients’ reward packages. It offers the care-4 payment system, an electronic voucher for working parents to pay approved carers efficiently and cost-effectively.

KiddiVouchers is a company that is focused on simplicity and flexibility, aiming to minimise administration for employers. It includes a fully managed service as standard and says that its charges are well below the industry average. KiddiVouchers currently supplies more than 3,000 employers with childcare vouchers.

My Family Care Vouchers brings together two major players in the corporate family care market, My Family Care and Allsave Childcare Vouchers. It provides the next generation of childcare vouchers, family support and savings, customising schemes to meet clients’ needs and providing excellent service to all scheme stakeholders.
