The annual CIPD conference in Harrogate is to relocate to Manchester from 2009.
The institute said its annual conference and exhibition would move from its traditional home in Yorkshire to the Manchester Central Convention Complex from November 2009. The conference will also be moving from its current September slot to November.
The dates for the 2009 event will be Tuesday 17 November to Thursday 19 November 2009.
Nina Harman, CIPD head of conferences and exhibitions, said: “Manchester offers excellent transport links for our domestic and international guests, and also offers a wide range of accommodation and other facilities to cater for all those who visit the event over the three days.

“We’ve made this change on the basis of extensive research among the conference delegates and exhibition visitors who make the event such a success year after year.”
The 2008 event had already been moved back a month to September to avoid clashing with school half-term.
