A strike by classroom assistants at an east Belfast special school could spread to Northern Ireland schools if a row over low pay is not resolved, a union has warned.
According to the Belfast Telegraph, the Nipsa union issued the warning as 38 classroom assistants at Tor Bank Special School in Dundonald are set to strike.
The action is part of a long-running row with the South Eastern Education and Library Board.
Workers claim the board has dragged its heels over a job evaluation scheme which was agreed 10 years ago.
