Workers at a Teesside steel plant are threatening industrial action over their employer’s ‘inability’ to resolve the site’s long-term future.
The plant, Teesside Cast Products, in Redcar, is owned by Corus, and has already been partly mothballed due to the loss of a contract.

While Corus is to invest £1.5m in full-time training for more than 200 workers facing redundancy, the cancelled contract has left 1,500 workers at risk, reports Peterborough Today.
Michael Leahy, general secretary of the Community union, said: “Local union reps are concerned about the lack of progress and have requested a ballot for industrial action, which the unions are conducting at national level.”
