Council expects HR and payroll system to pay for itself within three years

Coventry City Council is investing £850,000 in a new HR and payroll system which, it is estimated, will pay for itself in three years.

The city council will use Northgate HR’s ResourceLink software to manage its entire HR function for 16,000 employees, from recruitment, training and career development through to pensions and retirement.

Councillor Brian Kelsey said: “ResourceLink will be a key component in the city council’s efficiency and effectiveness programme.

“We expect it to contribute to significant savings in personnel costs across the council, while improving the quality of management information and enhancing the level of customer service.”
