Social workers from Australia and New Zealand are being
targeted to fill vacancies in the UK.
The London Borough of Newham has recruited nine qualified
social worker within the UK in the first six weeks of a recruitment campaign being
run with the help of a dedicated team from professional support service
organisation Capita.
Now, Capita is preparing to introduce an international
campaign to target suitable candidates in Australia and New Zealand to help
fill remaining vacancies at Newham.
Rashid Patel, principal HR officer for London Borough of
Newham, said, “Suitable candidates were pre-selected and screened by Capita,
saving us valuable time and resources and ensuring that only appropriate
candidates were invited to attend panel interviews.
“Consequently, 95 per cent of those interviewed were offered
and accepted social work positions within Newham.”
