The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) is consulting on its proposals to increase disclosure fees.
It is inviting views on increasing the fees and also introducing a payment for the Protection of Vulnerable Adults check, which is currently free of charge.
The CRB is self-funding and is operating at a deficit and will continue to so unless fees are increased.
The increase will also help pay for further improvements to its service, the CRB said.
