Hair shirty: Australian umpire Darrell Hair (pictured below) is kicking up rough and suing the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for racial discrimination.
Hair was sacked from the ICC’s elite panel of umpires after his role in a ball-tampering row in the forfeited England v Pakistan test match in August 2006.

Hair claims he was treated differently to fellow umpire, West Indian Billy Doctrove, and the PCB “unlawfully induced” the ICC to engage in discriminatory acts. Both the ICC and the PCB have pledged to fight the claim, issued at the Central London Employment Tribunal.
