CWU and Royal Mail to meet over pay row

The
Communications Workers Union (CWU) and the Royal Mail are meeting at the
conciliation service Acas in an effort to resolve a row over pay.

Postal
workers have threatened to strike after accusing Royal Mail of being dishonest
by claiming the latest offer was worth 14.5 per cent over 18 months.

The
deal is linked to productivity measures, and, union officials said, the only
definite money the offer contained was 3 per cent from October and a further
1.5 per cent next April.
