David Beaumont: an apology

by Personnel Today 23 Aug 2005
by Personnel Today 23 Aug 2005

In the 19 October 2004 edition of Personnel Today, and on our website, we published an article reporting the outcome of Employment Tribunal proceedings brought by David Beaumont against the union MSF.

In that article we allege that Mr Beaumont had been expelled by the union due to his membership of the BNP. We wish to make it clear that Mr Beaumont has never been a member of the BNP or, in any other way affiliated with it, or with any similar organisations. Furthermore, this allegation formed no part of the case before the Employment Tribunal, nor the disciplinary proceedings brought against him by the union.

We would also like to make clear that Mr Beaumont’s dispute was with MSF and not Amicus.

We apologise unreservedly for the distress and embarrassment caused to Mr Beaumont.
