A third of City workers would look for a new job if their
salary bonuses were lower than expected, according to research by financial
recruitment agency CitiPeople Group.
A further 19 per cent of staff would complain to their
employers. Other results showed that 61 per cent preferred to take their bonus
as an annual cash payment and 66 per cent would prefer their bonus before Christmas
rather than in the springtime.
Home improvements and holidays are high on employee’s agenda
with 75 per cent claiming that they will spend their bonus rather than save it.
The research also showed that City bonuses were up 7 per
cent on last year and more people received them.
“This survey underlines the risks for employers in failing
to meet bonus expectations,” said David Twiddle, managing director of
CitiPeople Group.
