The
Employers’ Forum on Disability has launched a range of online briefings on
disability.
These
briefings, which examine the disability dimension in key areas such as employment,
labour standards, human rights, customer relations and the digital divide, are
now available via the websites of eight key advisory organisations.
Susan
Scott-Parker, chief executive of the Forum, said: “If disability is to move up
the business agenda, it is essential that these influential bodies have the
resources to advise and guide companies towards best practice.
"It
is an exciting time when leading companies can see the inherent value of
addressing disability as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR)
strategy and are committed to raising the profile of this issue. Disabled
people need to be valued as stakeholders, customers and employees and any
socially responsible business should ensure that the disability dimension
features in any CSR work that it does.”
Briefings
are available on the following topics:
·          CSR and disability: the strategic
business case
·          Disability: some facts
·          Case studies of corporate action
·          Disability and employment: investing
in human potential
·          Serving disabled customers
·          Human rights
·          Labour standards
·          The digital divide
