The use of employment policies on the ethical treatment of staff is on the increase, according to an IRS survey.
The study of 51 organisations found that 35 have such a policy in place, while another five intend to implement one in the future. Twenty-seven were found to have some type of formal written policy on the matter, and eight had brought them in during the past three years.
In six of the organisations surveyed, the ethical employ-ment policies were standalone documents. Eight included matters of ethical employment as part of a wider corporate social responsibility policy, while 17 organisations include it as part of their corporate values.
