The UK body responsible for employment tribunals is to roll out an IT system in an attempt to improve the service it offers to employers and claimants.
The Employment Tribunals Service (ETS) has started the design phase of a £5m Caseflow project, which will cover all 25 of its centres as well as 14 offices run by the arbitration body Acas.
Paul Everington, project manager for ETS and Acas, said that the first stage of the project will be completed over the next few months.
“We are expecting to complete the design by the end of the summer,” he told Government Computing News.
“The first users will be on the system by September to October this year, then there will be the first pilot.”
Everington said the ETS already has e-mail and telephone services, but wants to make improvements.

“The idea is that people should get a responsive service,” he said.”
The full roll-out of the system, which is planned to cover 1,300 users, is scheduled to take place between January and June 2006.
