Nearly
60 per cent of engineering employers are offering a final salary pension scheme
to help attract the most talented graduates, finds research.
The
survey by the Engineering Employers Federation also reveals 12 per cent of
companies present graduates with a ‘golden hello’ financial joining incentive,
9 per cent offer interest-free loans and more than 40 per cent provide
assistance for accommodation.
The
findings illustrate the attempts engineering companies make to attract the most
able graduates and overcome the skills shortages which are still an acute
problem for industry.
