The
Museums Association has launched a training scheme to attract more ethnic
minorities to work in museums and galleries.
Four
institutions around the country are offering traineeships for ethnic minorities
in a bid to improve diversity among the workforce.
The
scheme will enable students to spend two years taking a postgraduate course in
museum studies, gaining valuable work experience.
After
their studies the individuals will be invited to apply for permanent jobs.
The
four traineeships will be hosted at:
–
Bristol Museums and Art Gallery
–
Herbert Art Gallery and Museum
–
Harris Museum and Art Gallery
