Women make better managers than men and are rated more highly by their
staff, according to psychological test results.
Both male and female employees prefer female managers.
The findings are part of a wider study of leadership under professor Beverly
Alimo-Metcalfe at the University of Leeds.

She claims women are more likely to have the qualities needed to inspire
people and are more effective leaders.
Based on a poll of 2,000 public sector staff who were asked to rate
managers’ effectiveness in 14 key skill areas, women came top in 11 categories
and were equal to men in three.
