The country’s first ‘workplace parking levy’ will come into force in Nottingham in 2012 and is likely to be adopted by other councils, according to The Telegraph.
Under the new scheme, companies with 11 or more employee parking spaces will be charged £250 a year for each one, and employers would be free to pass the cost on to their staff.
The annual cost of a space could rise to £350 within two years.
