A
friendly working environment is the best way to convince candidates to join a
company and motivate staff according to a recent survey of recruitment managers.
Thirty
per cent of respondents said that a friendly working environment and employee
autonomy are the best ways to attract candidates and convince them to join the
company.
Nineteen
per cent of those surveyed believe financial benefits and career opportunities
are important and16 per cent feel good management and continuous training are
vital factors in recruiting new people.
The
survey, by Robert Half International, also
finds that human relations are considered to be the best way to motivate
employees.
It
also reveals that HR department use benefits such as mobile phones and company cars
to retain middle managers.
The
survey of nearly 800 recruitment managers shows that flexible working benefits
such as child friendly arrangements and a laundry pick up service improve
employee loyalty.
Traditional
recruitment techniques such as press adverts are still the most commonly used
method of recruitment.

But
more than seven out of ten recruitment managers have already used e-recruitment
and 25 per cent believe the Internet will be the major recruitment tool within
the next 15 years.
