Around
90 staff in the UK will lose their jobs at Future publishing after the group
announced its plans to close 20 loss-making magazines worldwide.
The
titles which face the axe in the UK are Quick and Easy Windows, WAP, Digital
Camera User, DCUK and Your Imax.
Future
plans is cutting 350 jobs worldwide in a bid to reduce operating costs.
The
20 titles being closed account for 7 per cent of group sales in 2000.
“I’m
deeply disappointed we are now having to cut back our efforts and let people
go,” said Chris Anderson, Future’s chairman.
