G4S Security Services appoints new HR director

by Mike Berry 30 Jan 2008

G4S Security Services, the UK’s largest security company, has appointed Valerie Dale as its new human resources director.

She joins the company from a subsidiary of Rentokil Initial, where she was head of HR with responsibility for supporting more than 34,000 employees throughout the UK and Northern Ireland.

She replaces Liz Ogden, who had been with the company since 2002.

Dale will be responsible for the overall HR strategy of the business, including developing and implementing an employee relations and communication strategy, designing a reward and recognition system, and implementing efficient training, development and succession management.

She said: “Moving to G4S will offer a major challenge given the size and scope of the workforce, and it’s one I’m very much looking forward to.

“We’re hoping to expand on the already well-established training and development programmes, and ensure an overall HR strategy that is in tune with the business’s philosophy.”

G4S Security Services employs 15,500 people, working with a wide range of public sector and commercial clients.
