A third of all call centre staff are university graduates,
claims a report by telecommunications provider Thus.
Its research shows that graduates take jobs in call centres
because they see it as a path into the business world.
Forty per cent of the 1,500 Thus staff surveyed claimed that
a technical understanding was the most important skill, while 17 per cent said
that fluency in at least one other language was essential for their job.
“Call centres are an attractive environment for graduates,
they provide a challenging role and a chance to utilise the skills that they
learnt at university,” said Thus’ chief executive Bill Allen.
